Brilliant Events Coordination began not in a skyscraper boardroom but in Crystal Lane-Chase’s efficient basement apartment, where the ceiling was low, the coffee was strong, and the laptop was held together with duct tape and the knowledge that there was no money for a new one. Fresh out of college, Crystal built BEC from a single folding desk and an old laptop - armed with a stubborn belief that details matter and deadlines are sacred.
She even convinced her freshman roommate, Blair Hoffman, a criminology major who swore she’d never work in “party planning,” to come on board. Two decades later, Blair’s still here - proof that Crystal’s greatest skill may be recruitment by sheer force of charisma.
What started as a scrappy two-person operation handling weddings, bar mitzvahs, and the occasional charity gala has evolved into a global production powerhouse managing international conferences, Fortune 500 retreats, and government summits on five continents. From two employees to over 200 full-time staff, and from a humble $10,000 in first-year revenue to over $95 million annually, BEC’s growth story is a masterclass in creative precision and logistical audacity.
